Job Description

REF: TUR/CPSB/034/2023/2024: KISEDP LIAISON COORDINATOR, 1 POST

Duties and responsibilities will entail:-
i. Ensure KISEDP2 coordination mechanisms are strengthened at both county and sub-county
levels;
ii. Convene on a regular basis KISEDP2 Steering committee meeting chaired by both Turkana
County Governor and UNHCR County Representative;
iii. Coordinate the activities of KISEDP2 Secretariat;
iv. Ensure meetings of the County component groups chaired by County Executive Committee
Member or their designated officials are held on quarterly basis;
v. Ensure a financial tracking system for KISEPD2 projects is maintained and updated on a
regular basis;
vi. Coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities including field visits together with
KISEDP2 stakeholders;
vii. Improve KISEDP2 monitoring and reporting relationships between county officials,
UNHCR, partners and donors;
viii. Facilitate collaboration and working relationships between county officials, UNHCR,
partners and donors;
ix. Coordinate fundraising activities in the office of the Governor with all stakeholders;
x. Coordinate KISEDP2 communication strategy, fundraising strategy and visibility with
UNHCR and Partners;
xi. Work closely with UNHCR on both KISEDP2 and Shirika plan coordination,
implementation, monitoring, evaluation, fundraising and reporting;
xii. Ensure continuous efforts to build Economic and Social infrastructure of Kalobeyei,
Kakuma and other Wards in Turkana West to provide opportunities for refugees and host
communities;
xiii. Ensure inclusion and participation of refugees and host communities for socio economic
development;
xiv. Perform any other related duties as required.

(a) Requirements for Appointment:
i. Bachelor’s Degree in any Social Science or its equivalent qualification from a
recognized Institution;
ii. A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
iii. Minimum of three years of experience working with humanitarian organizations,
development organizations, financial institutions or donor relation management;
iv. Demonstrate understanding of Devolved Governance;
v. Be a strategic and result oriented individual and able to work under pressure to meet
strict deadlines;
vi. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on
Leadership and Integrity;
vii. Proficiency in Computer Applications;
viii. Demonstrated high degree of administrative, managerial and leadership capabilities;
ix. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance.
