Job Description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES
i. Be a Kenyan citizen of 40 years and above;
ii. Be graduate from a University recognized in Kenya majoring in Accounting, Commerce, Economics or related subjects:
iii. Have at least five years' experience as a head of a section in a busy "for-profit" commercial environment;
iv. Must be a current member of ICPAK in good standing:
v. Excellent user skills for the SAGE accounting software;
vi. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity.
vii. Be willing to work under pressure and beyond formal working hours to meet strict deadlines;
viii. Be willing to take and execute financial and accounting Instructions;
ix. Basic knowledge of the manufacturing and construction Industries In Kenya
* Basic knowledge of the Current tax and statutory obligation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
⚫ Advising the management on financial and accounting compliance needs
⚫ Planning, directing, and coordinating all tasks associated with the Department
• Appraising, Training and Development of staff under him/her
• Timely returns for all monthly financial remittances
• Ensuring professional and technical compliance for the Department
• Setting performance targets for the Department
• Undertaking ad hoc assignments relating to accounting services
• Overseeing the preparation of final accounts
• Ensuring safe custody of Company assets and records under him/ her;
• Authorizing payments and signing of cheques
Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of quality management reports for the Department
• Gulding officers under him/her to achieve the desired results.
• Lead developing, updating, and implementing pertinent and efficient financial, accounting policies and procedures
• Guide, monitor and safeguard the preparation and Implementation of the annual budget on issues related to Finance & Accounting
• Prepare Quarterly budget forecasting in close collaboration with other Departmental Heads; and also prepare quarterly and annual financial reports
• Lead and/or prepare, Implement and monitor procurement procedures and contracts
• Produce monthly liquidity reports and monthly payment obligations
• Monitor accounts and payment to vendors and individual contractors for goods and services
• Plan, secure and carry out timely monthly/annual reconciliations of the Company accounts
• Lead financial audits and cooperate with Auditing Standards, Including for providing information and files during Inspections and audits
• Lead update of the accounting software regularly
