The position
The Head of Sector – Diaspora Credit shall be responsible for providing executive risk management with an accurate assessment of the level and direction of credit risk as well as growing and ensuring proper management of the International Baking loan portfolio in Kenya.
The International Banking loan portfolio consists of credit facilities advanced to international money transfer (IMT) companies and Diaspora clients.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
• Champion the growth of the International Banking loan book through sales and marketing initiatives within and outside the Bank, recommending new credit products, product development, and product enhancements.
• Review and make credit decisions for all loan applications presented to the Branch Credit Committee (BrCC).
• Consistently monitor the approved pipeline pending disbursement to ensure timely and successful completion of the security perfection process.
• Consistently monitor the performance of the existing loan portfolio and ensure that the Portfolio-At-Risk (PAR) is maintained at acceptable levels as set by the Bank’s executive leadership.
• Address any questions and requests raised by the Head Office Credit Committee (HOCC) and the Executive Credit Committee (EXCO) during the approval process.
• Assist the Head of Credit – International Banking in leadership and management of the Diaspora Credit team members.
• Conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews with the Kenya Diaspora Credit team.
• Ensure compliance to all credit policies and procedures.

Qualifications
• Branch Credit Managers are encouraged to apply.
• A minimum of two years of SME credit experience.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a loan portfolio of at least KES 1 Billion.
• Experience in engaging C-level management and senior executives.
• Strong financial and accounting skills.
• Strong understanding of overall banking operations, credit policy, processes, and procedures.
