Job Description:
Responsible to the Clinical Director, the medical officer will provide personal, family and community orientated comprehensive primary and secondary health care services to individuals and ensure providing patient-centred, culturally appropriate, and individual holistic care to both in and out patient
Responsibilities:
-Conducting wards round along with resident doctors or clinical officers and nurse & monitoring the admitted patients.
-Ensure all inpatients are reviewed and a daily ward round done
-Strictly adhering to the medical ethics & management rules & regulations
-Ensures high cleanliness standards are maintained in the department
-Ensures all services rendered are paid for and an official receipt obtained
-Ensures high accuracy on prescriptions
-Ensures confidentiality of patients’ records
-Ensures correct diagnosis is ascertained on patients
-Must have good morals and relations with both staff and patients
-Reports all incidents to the hospital authorities
-Safeguards hospital assets and equipment in his department
-Coordinate all referrals in and out
-Coordinating and management of OPD and Emergency Services
-Reviewing patients’ treatment sheets and ensuring all treatments are given as scheduled
-Answerable directly to the CEO and Clinical Director on clinical matters
-Manage and coordinate specialist clinics
-Organise and conduct CME’s.
-Takes charge of mortality reviews.
-Any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:
-Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognized college/University
-Valid practising licence with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
-At least two (2) years’ work experience in a busy Hospital
