Senior tourism Officer (1 Post)

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

 Job Group: L

 Salary Scale: Kshs42,970 x 1920 – 44,890 x 2,000 – 46,890 x 2,110 – 49,000 x 2,170 – 51,170 x 2,550 – 53,720 x 2,650 – 56,370 x 2,750 – 59,120 p.m.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  •           Evaluation, analysis and interpretation of monthly, quarterly and annual tourism reports and statistics
  •        Initiate intelligent surveys and research activities and preparing reports thereon, for establishing new tourism products and circuits
  •           Assist in preparation of background papers and briefs for domestic and international tourism promotion in liaison with relevant departments and institutions
  •          Plan and organize exhibitions and local shows
  •        Contact classification of hotels, restaurants and other tourists’ establishments

Qualifications

  •     Must have served in the county Government of Makueni in a similar position for a minimum period of six (6) years
  •    Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Tourism and Hospitality Management, Wildlife Enterprise Management, Tours and Travel Management, Eco-tourism Management from a recognized institution
  •    Relevant knowledge and experience in local tourism and hospitality industry
  •           Be computer literate
