Job Description

Our client is a well established SACCO in Nairobi County. They wish to recruit an Assistant ICT Officer who shall work under the supervision and guidance of the ICT Officer. The ICT Assistant’s main task is to assist the ICT Officer with implementation of the ICT department objectives and being hands on in supporting users.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The main duties of the Assistant ICT Officer are:
• Maintain and troubleshoot and repair all network and computer related issues including hardware, operating systems and applications;
• Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast responses/solutions to front-end users;
• Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment;
• Help install and support of all ICT hardware and software;
• Monitoring of the computing resources to provide a stable and responsive environment.
• Operating network utility procedures defining network users and security attributes establishing directories, menus and drive-mappings, configuring network printers and providing user access.
• Monitoring of daily backups and restoration procedures for both server and local drives.
• Assist in timely upgrade of LAN infrastructure and Internet connectivity to meet to ensure seamless operations and provision of services.
• Manage and maintain the SACCO’s website and intranets and ensure they are up to date with accurate information.
• Provides support to the ICT officer in development of Web Based Applications and Tools
• Assisting users to fully utilize the online tools already developed and that are being developed to automate the Business processes through proper planning, scheduling, monitoring and resolving of helpdesk tasks.
• Provide support for the SACCO’s developed Web Based Applications and Tools.
• Provide support and training to staff on office automation applications (Lotus Notes, MS Office, WAN applications and mobile user clients).
• Assist in performing systems administration functions for core banking software, network Operating systems whenever needed.
• Install and administer the office ICT applications and data telecommunication facilities. This involves administering data security for end user access to such network and/or facilities and troubleshooting ad-hoc hardware or software problems experienced on the network or facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science/Technology or a relevant field and 2 years’ experience or a Higher Diploma/Diploma in the relevant field and at least 3 years practical experience providing ICT services in the industry.
• Network Certification or any other relevant certification shall be an added advantage.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment;
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
• Excellent communication and writing skills.

TERMS OF SERVICE
1. This is a crucial operational position on an initial two (2) year contract terms (renewable based on performance and productivity).
2. The SACCO shall offer a competitively negotiated remuneration package based on qualifications, experience and performance.
3. A non-contributory medical benefit at the current medical scheme terms and conditions.

REMUNERATION
• Gross Salary: Ksh 40,000 to Ksh 50,000 per month based on qualifications
