Job Description

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for -
a) Providing strategic leadership to the staff of the Agency;
b) Guiding in the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures that give the Agency positive perception and competitive advantage

d) Day-to-day operations of the Agency;
e) Managing internal multidisciplinary teams to ensure set objectives are met:
f) Facilitating the preparation and implementation of the Agency's strategic and annual work plans;
g) Execution and communication of the Boards strategies, decisions and policies;
h) Ensure that the organization has an effective management structure including succession plans;
i) Coordinating resource mobilization to enhance realization of the strategic objectives;
j) Fostering relationship with the relevant Ministries, development partners and other stakeholders for the benefit of the Agency;
k) Ensuring prudent management of all available resources of the Agency;
I) Ensuring adherence to relevant national and international conventions and treaties;
m) Fostering conducive corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good governance in line with the Constitution of Kenya 2010;
n) Developing networks and partnerships with development partners and spearhead donor collaboration, fundraising and project development within the Agency's area of jurisdiction;
o) Ensuring compliance with any Government policies and regulatory guidelines and directives.
p) Serving as the link between the Board and the Management and other stakeholders;
q) Stakeholder management and the enhancement of the corporate image of the organization.

Qualifications and Work experience
For appointment to this grade. a candidate must have/be: -
a) At least fifteen (15) years proven experience in a relevant field, five (5) years of which must have been in senior management position.
b) Bachelors Degree from a recognized University.
c) Master's Degree from a recognized University.
d) Demonstrated professional competency and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
e) Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
f) Professional qualification and membership of a professional body (where applicable).
g) Proficiency in computer applications. h) Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. The appointment will be for a contractual period of three (3) years renewable once for a similar period of time subject to satisfactory performance and delivery of set performance targets and outcomes set and evaluated by the Board.

Applicants will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of Kenya Constitution 2010 by attaching copies of the following;
a) Certificate of Good Conduct from the Director of Criminal Investigations;
b) Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board;
c) Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority;
d) Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission;
e) Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau.
