Job Description

• CLINICAL COORDINATOR-NURSING EDUCATION &QUALITY ASSURANCE Ref No. COTQA/02/2022
• The role holder will report to the Chief Nursing Officer with regular consultation from the Quality Assurance Manager.

Key responsibilities:
o Coordination of all Internal nursing staff training by availing annual Training Calendar for short courses (BLS, ACLS, PALS/EPLS, ATLS, ALSO) and any other course deemed necessary.
o Coordination of Nurses CMEs
o Coordination of orientation and induction of nursing department staff.
o Coordination of other clinical related external trainings, meetings, conferences and Symposiums
o Coordinates Training Evaluation by carrying out Planned Clinical Reasoning
o Conducts Skill checks and Drills.
o Coordination of practical attachments for high school students and other volunteers
o Coordination of all practical attachments for college and university students.
o Ensures students pays clinical attachment fees as stipulated in the MOUs
o Analyzes the Feedback report for all students on attachment and provides Action Plan.
o Holds Meetings with all Stakeholders and Gives a written report.
o Coordinates all Clinical Audits in all Nursing and Non Nursing Departments and gives Feedback and reports accordingly.
o Designs a plan for continuing department-based learning and works with the nurse manager to ensure participation of all nurses.
o Attends Head Nurses Meetings and gives Updates
o Coordinates Research Activities for Nurses.
o Coordinates Revision of MOUs with Various Institutions. And Keeps Records of the same.
o Ensures nursing staff are familiar with the documentation policy and trains nurses on the use of all nursing forms/charts.
o Uses clinical incidences as learning opportunities for nurses and with them plans corrective and preventive actions
o Work in liaison with the clinical programs for the implementation of process improvement activities.
o Review hospital processes and look for opportunities for process improvement
o Supports the Quality Assurance Manager in administrative duties

Minimum requirement:
o Diploma (KRCHN) / Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN);
o Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya with a valid license;
o Four (4) years clinical working experience in a busy preferably ISO accredited institution
o TOT Certification for in BLS and/ or ACLS;
o Certification in Quality Improvement methods is an advantage.
o Proficient in Basic computer skills
o Excellent and communication and interpersonal skills
o Excellent data collection, analysis, and presentation skills
o Possess strong leadership qualities
