Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will entail:
1. Advising management on policies and strategies relating to Scheme Development, Training, Capacity Building, Marketing Communication and Advocacy;
2. Developing programmes that nurture relations and cooperation with regional, international accreditation bodies, persons, associations, and organizations in the promotion of accreditation;
3. Ensuring the development of guidelines and criteria for accreditation of new schemes;
4. Piloting of new schemes developed;
5. Liaising with regulators, development partners and relevant stakeholders in developing and operationalizing schemes that are fit for the economy and that are a strategic fit for the region and in a global context;
6. Coordinating the generation of project proposals on scheme development and capacity building;
7. Ensuring the organization of events, activities and forums for promoting accreditation in Kenya, the region and globally and the use of accreditation marks;
8. Ensuring the organization of events and exhibitions, publications, website content, social media, media, to promote awareness of KENAS accreditation and its equivalence under the mutual recognition arrangement;
9. Ensuring the organization of events and exhibitions, publications, website content, social media, media, to promoting recognition of accredited bodies by users of conformity assessment;
10. Liaising with other departments to identify the training gaps and offer training for trainers, Assessors and technical experts;
11. Overseeing the process of conformity assessment training and other related training;
12. Carrying out advocacy and education campaigns;
13. Enhancing KENAS visibility through education, sensitization programs, billboards, advertising, publicity and marketing activities;
14. Coordinating corporate social responsibility activities;
15. Developing communication and branding strategy;
16. Liaising with the media to enhance corporate image;
17. Organizing stakeholder’s forums and meetings; and
18. Crisis Communication Management.

Academic and Professional Qualifications
1. At least six (10) years working experience in the public and private sector; five (5) of which must have been a management role;
2. Bachelors Degree in Education, Human Resources, Commerce, Sciences, Strategic Management, Business Management, Marketing, International Business, International Relations and any other relevant discipline;
3. Masters Degree in Education, Human Resources, Commerce, Sciences, Strategic Management, Business Management, Marketing, International Business, International Relations and any other relevant discipline;
4. Professional qualification and membership in good standing where applicable;
5. Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
6. Demonstrated results in work experience;
7. Proficiency in computer applications;
8. Fulfil the requirement of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.
