Job Description
POSITION: SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER I (JOB GROUP H/CASB 11) – 1 POST
(a) Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Helping hearing impaired individuals understand the proceedings of
the plenaries and committees of the Assembly;
(ii) Facilitating communication through sign language;
(iii) Serve as a liaison between County Assembly and the hearing impaired
community;
(iv) Providing accurate accounts of proceedings; and
(v) Any other relevant duty that may be assigned from time to time.
(b) Requirements
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:-
(i) Served as a Kenyan Sign Language Interpreter II for a minimum
period of three years;
(ii) A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent
qualification;
(iii) Diploma in Kenya sign language/special needs from a recognized
institution; and
(iv) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
