Job Description

Qualifications & Experience
1. Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized University.
2. Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
3. Member of the Law Society of Kenya and holds a valid practicing certificate.
4. Certified Public Secretary (CPSK) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution with a valid practicing certificate.
5. At least 7 years of legal and/or secretarial experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role in the professional services industry preferably within the East Africa region.
6. Excellent leadership and management skills.
7. Excellent marketing and networking skills.
8. Highly developed communication, presentation and report writing skills.
9. Great problem solving and decision making skills.
10. Great analytical skills, creative and innovative.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide strategic legal and company secretarial consultancy services to the firm’s clients.
2. Lead the legal and company secretarial team in providing strategic solutions to the firm’s clients.
3. Offer strategic leadership to the specific team of seniors, assistants and trainees assigned to you.
4. Provide consultancy services on matters such as registration compliance and observance of regulations on share register.
5. Offer advisory services on corporate governance, intellectual property and other current trends to the firm’s clients.
6. Take a lead in assignments that include Incorporation of business entities including Societies, Companies, Business Names, etc. for the firm’s clients as required.
7. Oversee the department’s services which pertain to drafting of documents such as Memorandum of Understanding, Articles of Association, Shareholders’ Agreements, Board of Directors Charters, etc.
8. Prepare high quality reports for all client engagements and give valuable advice to clients.
9. Ensure that there is adequate planning for all the assignments assigned to you before commencement.
10. Responsible for ensuring that the clients’ engagements assigned to you have properly been executed in accordance with the work plan and ensure that the timelines have been adhered to.
11. Offer quality review for all work done by juniors and ensure the work is being done as per the set objectives.
12. Participate in business development through proposal writing, expression of interests, cross selling and upselling.
13. Take charge of client relationship management to the existing clients and ensure that
those in your portfolio receive satisfactory services at all levels.
