POSITION: ASSISTANT AGRICULTURAL OFFICER I - JOB GROUP CPSB 09 ‘K’ (26 POSTS)
Basic Salary: Kshs. 38,270 x 1,470 –39,740 x 1,520 –41,260 x 1,710 – 42,970 x 1,920 – 44,890 x 2,000
– 46,890 x 2,110 – 49,000 x 2,170 – 51,170 p.m.
Duties and Responsibilities
An Officer at this level will be deployed in specific sections i.e. Crop Production, Land Development
or Project Management, within a Sub-County.
Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
a) Prepare and implement farm business plans through analysis of various enterprises; and
b) Monitor and advise on adoption of agricultural technologies.
Requirement for Appointment
For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -
a) Served in the grade of Assistant Agricultural Officer II, Job Group CPSB 10/’J’ for at least three
(3) years;
b) Diploma in any of the following fields; Agriculture, Food Technology, Agriculture and Home
Economics, Agricultural Education, Horticulture or any other relevant and equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution;
c) Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C and above or its equivalent;
d) Attended a Departmental training course in Participatory Approaches or Supervision will be
added advantage; and
e) Shown merit as reflected in work performance and results.
