We currently have an exciting career opportunity for Head of Business Development, Jubilee Financial Services
Limited. The position holder will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will be based at Head Office, Nairobi.

Role Purpose

The job holder will provide strategic leadership and grow the distribution channel functions, thus achieving the Jubilee
Financial Services Business revenue targets.

Main Responsibilities

1. Strategic
a) In conjunction with the GCE and the executive team, develop robust strategy for the Financial Services Company
that aligns with the overall company vision, mission, values and strategic direction.
b) Execute the Financial Services Company strategy including business development, product innovation, business
retention and performance management.
2. Management of the distribution channels so as to ensure the following objectives are met: -
a) Business acquisition and revenue generation to realize the budget as stipulated.
b) Specific focus on all Top Tier Brokers, Independent Financial Advisors (IFA) (intermediaries) and Cross selling.
Must realize at least 70% of the potential of each.
c) Develop and grow distribution channel partners outside Nairobi.
d) Ensure profitability of the business through equitable pricing.
e) Client Retention.
f) Reward & Recognition of distribution channel partners.
g) Training support for distribution channel partners.
3. Implementation of Client Relationship Management (CRM) best practice to drive the following business
goals: -
a) Client Retention and Referral.
b) Distribution Channels partners business support.
c) Distribution channels partners training support.
d) Management of relations with distribution channel partners.
4. Managing all the product revenue targets (Retail, Pension, Corporate and High Net Worth)
5. Managing an efficient sales cycle (sales pipeline) and value-based service cycle through use of CRM
techniques to drive the following business goals: -
a) Identify Target customer.
b) Timely proposal and tender submission.
c) Review and follow-up on submitted proposals and tenders.
d) Client acquisition.
e) Account Service Plan – client/intermediary visits etc.
6. Leadership & Management of the section
a) Leadership of business development team - setting direction and taking responsibility for budget and all aspects
of business development.
b) Ensure correct recruitment, training and people management of team including motivation.
c) Coaching and Mentoring of the business development team and create a succession plan.
7. Ensure the proper management of accurate, quality, and timely business reports from the Distribution
Channels and use these to compile channel reports for review by the Chief Executive Officer.
8. Market intelligence.
Monitor competitor activity and market trends and advise the Chief Executive Officer on opportunities/threats that
are presented by such activities.
9. Regular reporting (Weekly and monthly) of the revenue performance to the Chief Executive Officer in
accordance with applicable structures and ensure the section is fully aligned with the rest of the company
by building effective teamwork within the section and with other departments, that is, Documented
Distribution Channels processes and SLAs with various departments and Group Companies.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or any other related field.
2. Professional Qualification in finance or any other related field will be an added advantage.
3. Knowledge of Standard Investment and CRM software packages.
4. Knowledge of legislation governing Investments/Pensions in Kenya.

Relevant Experience

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, preferably in asset management/financial services.
