Planning Officer No. of Vacancies- Three (3)
Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) is a wholly owned Government Development Finance Institution (DFI) incorporated under the Agricultural Finance Corporation Act (Cap 323 of the Laws of Kenya). AFC is charged with the mandate of supporting the development of agriculture and agriculture industries by making loans and providing managerial and technical assistance to the loan beneficiaries.
The corporation invites applications for the position of Planning Officer

Role Profile
As a Planning Officer at AFC, you will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategic plans, policies, and programs that will positively impact the agriculture industry. Working closely with the Chief Strategy, Business Development, and planning Officer, you will contribute to the formulation and implementation of long-term growth strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our services.

Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with various departments to analyze data and market trends to identify growth opportunities and areas of improvement.
2. Assist in developing strategic plans and operational policies aligned with AFC’s objectives and mission.
3. Monitor and evaluate the progress of ongoing projects and initiatives, providing regular reports and recommendations to management.
4. Conduct research on emerging agricultural technologies, funding opportunities, and best practices to enhance our services and offerings.
5. Act as a liaison with government agencies, financial institutions, and industry stakeholders to foster partnerships and collaborations.
6. Support the management team in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and resource allocation plans.

Person Specifications
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:
1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degrees and certifications in strategic planning or project management are advantageous.
2. Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in strategic planning, project management, or a similar role within the agricultural or financial sector.
3. Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to gather, interpret, and analyze complex data sets, market trends, and industry developments.
4. Strategic Thinker: Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities to contribute effectively to the organization’s long-term growth.
5. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare clear and concise reports, proposals, and presentations.
6. Collaborative: A team player with the ability to collaborate and build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
7. Innovative: Keen interest in staying updated with the latest trends and innovations in the agricultural sector and applying them to enhance AFC’s services.
