Job Description

Jamii Housing Co-operative Society Ltd is a housing Co-operative Society for all members
and non members. The objective for the formation of the Sacco is to provide Housing
and Livelihood to its members together. The Society has been in the property business
for over five (5) years now with major focus on land buying and development of low cost
housing to its members.
VACANT POSITION
The Society would like to fill the following vacant position;
Position: Estate Agency Officer – I – One Post
Grade: JC 2

Job Type: Contract - 1 Year Renewable

JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to General Manager, the job holder is responsible for managing the Jamii
Housing Co-operative estate and property, with the key role of creating new business,
managing properties, liaising with both regulatory and non-regulatory bodies in
promoting Jamii Housing interests and goals and to protect the image of the Society.

FUNCTIONS / KEY RESULTS EXPECTED
1. Planning
 Planning and coordinating property field visits and other related activities.
 Prepare and implement annual Jamii Housing plans (budgets) as per CMC
approval.
 Timely preparation of budget for approval by the CMC.
 Manage service providers against agreed Service level agreements (SLAs)
or key performance Indicators(KPIs).
2. Sales and Marketing
 Develop and implement marketing strategies for business growth within the
real estate and property management.
 To ensure that all acquired properties are disposed off within the set
timelines.
 Marketing of new ventures/properties to be managed as per agreed
targets.
3. Agency Engagements / Operations
 Initiate contracts with various clients/landlords or property owners,
conducting appraisal while ensuring the authenticity of documents
submitted.
 Coordination of service providers and ensuring seaming less service work
flow.
 Verifying completeness of documents, accuracy of titles deeds and other
relevant documents provided by property owners. (Vendors).
 Oversee follow-ups & recoveries of all non-payments of property and other
service charge fees.
 Ensure safe custody of all accountable documents and records.
4. Risk Management
 Ensuring no illegal business operate within the compound and confines of
all properties managed by Jamii housing co-operative Society.
 Effective implementation of properties safety and legislation policies.
 Ensuring that no illegal transactions are done with clients and to protect all
properties owned by Jamii Housing Ltd.
5. Reports
 Provide periodic performance reports to the supervisor & ensure all reports
submitted are acted upon.
 Ensure all operational reports are up to date i.e. Clients/member payments,
customer in-take register, customer inquiries and complaints, building rules
and regulations etc.
6. Customer Care
 Manage clients complains using best practices in the customer relationship
management.
 Ensures all new & existing clients are well trained on Jamii housing cooperative Society products and services.
7. Networking
 Develop and maintain strong relationship with stakeholders and other
actors in the real estate sector in order to tap into opportunities.
 Representing Jamii housing society in stakeholders’ forums within area of
operation (in liaison with the CMC and Management.)
 Liaise with real estate agency board, local administration, Ministry of lands,
other leaders and potential customers to ensure growth of Jamii Housing
Society Ltd.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
 Diploma in Estate Agency & Property Management or Diploma in land
economics.
 Possession of Diploma in a Business related field will be an added
advantage.
 Proven 3 years’ experience in estate & property management.
 Computer Literacy.
 Valid driving licence.

network and develop strong business relationships.
 Good planning, organizing, problem solving and analytical skills.
 Ability to work under pressure & meet strict deadlines.
 Adaptable, flexible & able to work long hours.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution including;
 Police clearance certificate (Certificate of Good Conduct).
 Tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
 Clearance certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
(EACC).
 Clearance certificate from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
 Clearance certificate from Higher Education Loan Board (HELB).
