Requirements for appointment
Be a Kenyan citizen;
Be a holder of a Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of
Surgery (MB;Ch.B.) from a University recognized in Kenya;
Must have completed a Master’s Degree in Internal Medicine from
a university recognized in Kenya;
Registered as a Medical Specialist Practitioner by Medical
Practitioners and Dentist Council;
Have a Valid Practicing License;
Be of acceptable moral and professional standing.
Duties and responsibilities
The Physician will be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for
the following;
Formulation, implementation and review of all health policies,
regulations, standards, guidelines and protocols;
Reviewing patients and instructing in writing all
the recommendations;
Undertaking ‘Second-on-Call’ duties including clerking,
investigating and managing patients;
Conducting weekly clinics;
Conducting research and clinical audits;
Training, supervising and mentoring Medical Officers, Medical
Interns and other students;
Undertaking medico-legal duties;
Undertaking medical examinations and preparing Medical Board
proceedings;
Ensuring data and information is collected, transmitted and
utilized to benefit the client and service provider;
Conducting disease surveillance, prevention and control; and
Carrying out health education and promotion
Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
