Job Description

Neurologist KUTRRH 4- V/FT/81/2023 (1 Position)

Job Purpose: The Neurologist at the Hospital specializes in diagnosing and treating neurological
disorders. This role exists to provide expert medical care, conduct neurological examinations, and
support patients with neurological conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Diagnose and treat patients with neurological disorders.
• Conduct comprehensive neurological examinations.
• Interpret diagnostic tests such as EEG and MRI scans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in neurology.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Participate in research and clinical trials.
• Mentor junior medical staff.
• Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements
i. Sub-speciality in Neurology.
ii. Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from a recognized institution.
iii. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from a recognized institution.
iv. Served for a minimum period of nine (9) years relevant work, five (5) of which should have
been in a Management position.
v. Evidence of having taken a leadership course.
vi. Retention in the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council register.
vii. Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
viii. Recognition as a sub-specialist by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
ix. Valid Practice License from Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
x. Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.
xi. Proficiency in computer applications.
xii. Fulfilled the requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
