Job Description

Reporting to the CEO, this role is responsible for shaping Sacco's public image, driving branding
initiatives, conducting strategic research, and ensuring effective communication both internally
and externally, with the overall goal of growing Sacco's market share. The position will lead the
Digital Communications Officer, Business Development Manager, the Call Centre Manager, and
oversee the activities of Senior Business Development Officers

Key Roles and Responsibilities
o Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies
aligned with SACCO's goals.
o Identify new business opportunities and establish strategic partnerships.
o Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners,
and stakeholders.
o Communication: Collaborate with internal teams for effective communication and
coordination. Externally, manage media relations, press releases, and public statements
o Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, assess the competitive
landscape, and pinpoint growth areas. Tailor business development strategies according to
customer needs and preferences.
o Deal Negotiation: Spearhead deal negotiations, ensuring alignment with organizational
objectives and securing favourable terms
o Brand Management: Cultivate and uphold a robust, consistent brand identity while ensuring
brand messaging aligns with SACCO's values and goals
o Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies across
various channels.
o Campaign Management: Plan and oversee marketing campaigns, monitoring their
performance and impact.
o Digital Marketing: Oversee digital marketing efforts, including social media, content
marketing, and online advertising.
o Crisis Management: Develop strategies for crisis handling and mitigation.
o Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate relationships with investors, customers, and the
community.

Key Performance Indicators
o Revenue Growth: Increase in revenue from Sacco marketing operations.
o Deal Closure Rate: The success rate of closed deals.
o Partnership Success: Impact of key partnerships.
o Market Share Expansion: Growth in targeted segments.
o Brand Awareness: Visibility and recognition in the target market.
o Lead Generation: Number of qualified leads from marketing efforts.
o Conversion Rates: Lead to customer conversion percentage.
o ROI of Marketing Campaigns: Return on marketing investments.
o Media Coverage: Quality of media coverage.
o Employee Engagement: Level of employee satisfaction and communication understanding.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
o Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
A Master's degree is advantageous.
o Minimum of 7 years of experience in marketing and communications, with substantial
leadership experience in a financial institution.
o Proven track record in strategic planning, brand management, and team leadership.
o Expertise in digital marketing, market research, and public relations.
o Strong negotiation, relationship management, and crisis management skills.
o Excellent internal and external communication abilities.
o Membership in the Marketing Society of Kenya is a plus.
o Strategic thinker with a practical approach to problem-solving.
o Ability to manage and work effectively with diverse teams.
o Agile and responsive to market demands.
o Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
