Deputy Director of Physical Planning, Job Group 'Q' MCPSB/01/2024/211
Machakos, Kenya
Terms of Service: Three (3) Year Contract
(a) Duties and Responsibilities
i. Developing plans for strategic county projects and programmes
ii. Interpreting county policies
iii. Formulation of strategies
iv. Contacting thematic issue research on matters relating to strategic county projects and programmes
v. Supervising preparation of county urban and rural plans
vi. Implementing strategies for public education
vii. Participation and engagement
viii. Preparing annual state of physical planning reports on county projects /programmes
ix. Providing guidance to liaison committees and secretariats
(b) Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
i. A minimum experience of fifteen (15) years in this field.
ii. Have a Bachelor degree in any of the following disciplines Urban and Regional planning. Urban town planning from a recognized institution
iii. Have a Masters degree in urban and regional planning, town planning from a recognized institution
iv. Be a corporate member of Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of Kenya (Town planning chapter)
v. Be registered by the physical planners Registration Board
vi. Have certificate in computer from a recognized institution
vii. Have demonstrated technical and professional competence as reflected in work performance and results
viii. A certificate in strategic leadership development programme (SLDP) Lasting not less than six weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
