Job Description

Job Purpose
Provides leadership, strategic management and day to day management of warehousing
operations and inventory management.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coordinating warehousing activities for regions
2. Ensuring regulatory compliance at all warehouses
3. Training and mentoring warehousing staff
4. Supervising administrative services for warehouses
5. Conducting regular research on warehousing needs, trends and recommend changes and
improvements
6. Monitoring inventory, movement of stores, recommending requisition when stocks
approach reorder levels in accordance with the laid down regulations and procedures;
7. Ensuring proper storage of stock items;
8. Issuing required quantities against authorized purchase documents;
9. Preparing list and making recommendation for assets, stores and equipment for disposal;
10. Supervising periodic and annual stock taking;
11. Drafting inspection and acceptance of goods received at the warehouse; and
12. Ensuring documentation compliance
13. Develop distribution budgets and manage expenses within the budgets
14. Working with warehouse and transportation staffs to ensure timely and accurate
deliveries
15. Performing cost negotiations with vendors and provide appropriate solutions for bulk
distributions
16. Developing cost reduction initiatives while maintaining productivity and quality
17. Planning and Scheduling deliveries to meet customer needs
18. Assisting in inventory management activities including receiving, storing, rotating and
handling supplies in the distribution center.
19. Monitoring team performances and provide feedback for improvements
20.Overseeing daily routes and improve route plans to ensure timely deliveries
21. Ensuring health and safety standards are met
22.Liaising with and managing staff and shifts
23.Preparing paperwork for regulatory bodies
24.Operating IT systems to manage timings, costs and stock levels
25.Monitoring stock and managing waste.

Recognized Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines; Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain
Management, Logistics, Business administration or any equivalent qualifications from a
recognized institution;
2. Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business administration or any
equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
3. Have a minimum ten (10) years relevant work experience four (4) of which should have
been at management role;
4. Attended a management course lasting not less than 4 weeks
5. Professional Membership with Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) and a
valid Practising license
6. Proficiency in computer applications; and
7. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
