Job Summary
Reporting to Assistant Manager, Monitoring & Evaluation, the job holder is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities: -

Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
i. Monitoring projects/studies progress in terms of payments and other costs/expenditure including project administration costs.
ii. Analysing projects costing performance.
iii. Participating in assessment of contract variations.
iv. Tracking project payments processes and other projects documents.
v. Preparing projects expenditure report for reporting.
vi. Participating in periodical appraisal and incorporating lessons learnt from previous projects.
vii. Reviewing Contractors Statements for conformity with contract provisions and Bill of Quantities and Schedule of Prices.
viii. Maintaining an updated log detailing the financing mix for projects.
ix. Participating in valuation of works.
x. Participating in preparation and compilation of Departmental Budget as per the Guidelines.
xi. Participating in preparation of Projects Final accounts and completion reports.
xii. Participating in preparation and updating of financial risks in all projects.
xiii. Participating in implementation of standardized process templates (payment certificate, payment memo, progress report, final accounts, scoring matrix).
xiv. Loading and distributing projects Budget in the project structure.
xv. Creating projects and projects definitions in the WBS structure.
xvi. Creating Appropriation Requests, Purchase Requisition and Service Entry sheets for processing of Projects payments.
xvii. Raising Capital works authority for projects budget release
xviii. Raising Service Entry sheets for processing of Projects payments.
xix. Preparing project costing report.

Person Specifications
i. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Project Management from a recognized institution or any other relevant equivalent qualification.
ii. Exposure in relevant work experience in a Project Management Environment will be added advantage.
iii. Minimum of Graduate Registration with a relevant professional body.
iv. Certified Public Accountants (CPA-K) or relevant professional certification in the field of Project Management Certification.
v. Masters degree in Finance or Project Management will be an added advantage
vi. Working knowledge of SAP system.
vii. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of Constitution of Kenya
