Housing Officer II - Job Group ‘J’ (Six (6) Positions) – Advert No. 05/2024/04
Basic salary Kshs. 32,700 – 42,690 p.m. (Job Group ‘J’)
All other allowances as per the SRC circulars
Terms of service: Permanent and Pensionable
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
i. Bachelor's degree in any of the following: Sociology, Community
Development, Economics, Statistics, Environmental Studies, Geography,
Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Civil/Electrical
/Mechanical/Structural Engineering, Land Economics, Building
Economics, Construction Management, Valuations and Property
Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Duties and responsibilities
This will be the entry and training grade for non-professional degree holders in
this cadre. An officer in this grade will be deployed in the Housing Development
and Management and Slum Up-grading Departments and duties will entail
i. collection of data on housing to up-date the housing database and
establish the levels of demand and supply;
ii. identification of land for housing development; and
iii. disseminating information on appropriate building technologies to
stakeholders under supervision of a senior officer.
