Job Description

Responsibilities
• Formulate and execute finance function strategy.
• Financial Reporting: Coordinate preparation of monthly management accounts & supporting collateral, monthly group reporting, statutory financial reports, quarterly Board Financial reports, value-add reports and coordinate compliance with IASB’s international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and accounting conventions.
• Decision support: Evaluation of various project business cases for viability (IRR analysis etc.)
• Coordinate/perform financial modelling to support scenario analysis and decision making.
• Risk and Compliance management: Oversee the maintenance of a ledger that meets the criteria for Completeness, Integrity and Accuracy.
• Develop, review, and enhance various financial operating policies, standard operating procedures, and other bookkeeping controls (checklists & reconciliations).
• Oversee and enforce compliance with regulators being the Kenya Revenue Authority, Insurance Regulatory Authority, Capital Markets Authority, NSSF, NHIF and with other relevant regulations.
• Capital management: Budgeting, Liquidity management, Fixed Asset management, Investments Management, Solvency management, Expense management, Revenue management, Debt/credit control Management
• Business process review, redesign, and automation: Review transaction processing for efficiency, redesign for effectiveness and implement progressive automation of all aspects of financial transaction and reporting over time.
• Human Capital Management: Departmental supervision/performance management of finance department staff for effectiveness
• Stakeholder management: Effective value add engagement with the rest of EXCO peers, support staff and other external parties.

Requirements
• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or its equivalent from a recognized institution
• CPA (K) / ACCA or its equivalent from a recognized institution; and
• Member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants or a relevant professional body
• Over 10 years’ experience with at least 3 years management experience at Finance Manager level in an Insurance Company (preferred)
• Problem solving and analytical thinking
• Strong oral and written communication
• Good planning and organizational skills
