Job Description

POSITION: SOCIAL ASSET BUILDING/ EVIDENCE BASED INTERVENTIONS OFFICER
LOCATION: MIGORI
REPORTS TO: DREAMS LEAD
PROGRAM: ENTRENCH

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

The Social Asset Building /Evidence Based Interventions Officer will be the lead technical expert on delivery of the DREAMS Social Asset Building (SAB) component. S/he will provide expert guidance on the overall social asset building technical approaches delivered through the safe place model for all the adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) enrolled in DREAMS. The individual will oversee and manage the activities including structuring and coordinating delivery of curricula-based evidence informed interventions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide technical oversight, coordination, and management of the social asset pillar of DREAM program in the supported region.
• Enhance right identification and retention of most at risk and highly vulnerable AGYW enrolled in DREAMS for consistent layering of required and need based interventions.
• Map and update services offered collaboratively with stakeholders including civil society organizations and community-based programs.
• Identify and train intervention facilitators and mentors to support the DREAMS girls through information sharing and appropriate referrals.
• Provide technical oversight, training, and mentorship to ensure provision of age-appropriate evidence-based interventions including My Health My Choice, SHUGA, Sister to Sister, Families Matter Program, and Healthy Choices for a Better Future.
• Equip AGYWs will life skills including enhanced self-esteem, problem-solving abilities, confidence and building social networks.
• Identify and capacity build DREAMS Ambassadors based on adapted guide/curricular to enhance DREAMS publicity and effective support to AGYW.
• Enhance linkage with community and facility resources as appropriate including health information and services.
• Provide/coordinate training to mentors and AGYWs on financial literacy and entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Economic Strengthening Officer.
• Oversees the monitoring of program activities.
• Collaborate with the ward in-charges to ensure effective organizing, coordination, and supervision of the mentors for the targeted AGYW.
• Implement continuous quality improvement approaches to ensure quality service provision.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or related field
• At least three (3) years’ relevant work experience in similar position
• Ability to develop and maintain close relationships with various stakeholders
• Strong interpersonal and coordination skills
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team leader and player
