MEDICAL SPECIALIST I – ANAESTHESIOLOGIST, JOB GROUP ‘CPSB 04’ (Q) ONE (1 POST)- Re-Advertisement
Terms of service: Permanent
Requirements for Appointment:
1. Be a citizen of Kenya;
2. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree from an institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
• Master of Medicine in Anesthesia from an institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
1. Served as Medical Specialist II for a minimum period of three (3) years;
2. Certificate of registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
3. Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
• Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
1. Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities
1.Administering pain relief before, during and after medical procedures;
2. Monitoring patients’ vital signs during procedures;
3. Supervising Anesthesia Assistants and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists;
4. Approving general, sedative, regional or local anesthetists;
5. Reviewing medical files and lab results;
6. Informing patients of risks associated with anesthesia; and
7. Complying with medical and hospital procedures policy.
