Job Description

Environment, Health And Safety (EHS) Officer (5 Positions) Job Grade 6 (Permanent And Pensionable) REF : 8 / 8 / 2023

Qualifications
1. A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized university;
2. Professional qualification in Environmental, Health and Safety with a bias in petroleum operations;
3. Membership in good standing of a relevant professional body, where applicable; and
4. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Application Requirements

2. A detailed Curriculum Vitae indicating their current and previous employers, positions held, current and expected salary, level of education and names of at least three professional referees, two of which must be working in the current organization;

Responsibilities
1. Review Environment and Social Impact Assessment study reports;
2. Participate in the development of standards and codes of practice for the energy and petroleum operations;
3. Respond to inquiries and correspondences on matters pertaining to environment, health and safety;
4. Implement Government policies and directives on Environment, Health and Safety;
5. Participate in Environment, Health and Safety audits and draft reports;
6. Ensure complete restoration of sites used for energy and petroleum operations;
7. Prepare quarterly and annual performance reports on processes necessary for the effective enforcement of environment, health and safety standards and codes;
8. Implement Board decisions on matters pertaining environment, safety and health;
9. Adequately deal with customer complaints on matters environment, health and safety; and
10. Attend and participate in various internal and external committees as designated.
