Cost Accountant (2 Positions) - Job Grade 6 (Permanent And Pensionable) REF : 11 / 8 / 2023

Qualifications
1. A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Finance, Accounts Commerce (Finance Option), Business Administration, Business Management, Economics or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
2. Proficient in Computer Applications; and
3. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Responsibilities
1. Account for the production, disposition and sales of crude oil and natural gas products;
2. Determine product value and production taxes;
3. Review the pricing of contracts and agreements;
4. Apply fixed-asset and work-in-progress accounting procedures;
5. Account for the acquisition, exploration and development of oil and gas leases;
6. Review joint operating agreements and contracts to determine how they mandate the accounting for capital and operating expenditures;
7. Perform month-end closing activities, including entering journal entries, determining required accruals and performing various calculations;
8. Prepare monthly financials statements, including analysis of results;
9. Provide guidance on accounting matters such as implications of new accounting pronouncements and classification of transactions;
10. Ensure detailed compliance with internal controls and procedures;
11. Assist with the annual audit by preparing various schedules and responding to audit queries;
12. Assist with the annual budget and analyze and report monthly actuals compared to forecast and
13. Assist with various monthly reporting requirements as necessary.
