Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
This is the entry grade into this cadre. An officer at this level will work under
supervision of a senior officer.
a) Duties and responsibilities will include: -
i. Receiving and recording all patient work and interpreting patient prescription;
ii. Performing dental prosthesis;
iii. Adjust dental devices for people who have lost teeth or need help to correct the
appearance and performance of their teeth;
iv. Create plastic or metal devices such as braces, to straighten teeth
(Orthodontics);
v. Construct items which can be cemented in place (Crown and bridge work);
vi. making acrylic complete/partial dentures and repairs; and
vii. Participating in oral/dental health promotion.
b) Requirements for Appointments
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
i. Be a Kenyan Citizen
ii. Diploma in Dental Technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized
institution;
iii. Certificate of registration from the Kenya Dental Technologists Association
(KDTA)
iv. Certificate in computer applications.
v. Have three (3) years’ experience in the relevant field
