Role overview:

To provide accounting support to ensure accuracy of all finance transactions related to the project and to manage all financial aspects of projects from budget preparation to project closure.

Responsibilities:
• Track and record all project transactions in a timely manner
• Conduct reconciliation of project accounts monthly
• Compete monthly, quarterly and annual report in a timely manner
• Prepare budget and cash flow forecasts
• Prepare and review monthly transactions in a timely fashion.
• Prepare and review monthly reserves statement for each project, and review for exceptions
• Ensure all transactions are supported by adequate documentation, approval and that documentation is filed and retained in a suitable way
• Ensure internal year-end deadlines are met, and transactions are accrued in a timely fashion at this stage if required. Ensure that all accruals are reviewed periodically and settled especially before project closure.
• Produce monthly reporting to the finance lead, ensuring accuracy
• Produce financial analysis as required by the project team to assist decision-making.
• Manage day to day to finances, including processing invoices, expenditures etc. in collaboration with project teams.
• With support from Head of finance, support the audit team in conducting audit.
• Provide any needed support to achieving the organizational mission.

Person Specifications
• Qualified accountant CPA or currently pursuing CPA
• Excellent oral and written communication in English

Essential Knowledge, skills and Experience
• Substantial (minimum 1year) experience in a relevant role
• Demonstrable and significant experience of the following;
• Creating and implanting good financial practice and controls, including transaction reviews and adjustments
• Balance sheet reconciliations and monthly checks and balances
• Working knowledge of Quick books accounting software and Microsoft office especially Excel and Word
• A strong commitment to FoLT’s values
• Ability to build good working relationships with non-finance staff
• Takes initiative, charge and proactively seeks new ideas, experiments with new processes/practices that capitalizes on opportunities
