Job Description

Job Summary
Tenwek Hospital College is fully accredited by TVETA and offers approved curricula from various
professional bodies in Kenya. It is owned by Tenwek Hospital. The School of Chaplaincy is one of the
schools within this college which seeks to equip Christian workers with specialized training and spiritual
support to function as chaplains in all multi-faith settings (Universities, Colleges, Schools, Hospitals,
prisons, Rehabilitation centers, Police, Defense Forces, Sports etc) thus opening doors for the Gospel
ministry of Jesus Christ.
The role of the Trainer is to train Chaplain Students to be physically, spiritually, professionally, and
personally be the best they can be, to the glory of God.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Trainer responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
a) Teach assigned courses/units as per the Chaplaincy curriculum as assessed by CDAAC.
b) Prepare all assessment tools for courses/units taught in each Trimester.
c) Assess and evaluate students instructed during the trimester as guided by the examining body.
d) Provide necessary support for all students assigned in practical ministry and industrial
attachment to be successful in completing assigned criteria during each placement.
e) Maintain spiritual growth and assist in spiritual growth of the students.
f) Maintain adequate communication with students.
g) Carry out the required duties/responsibilities according to the time scheduled.
h) Attend the college meetings as assigned from time to time.
i) Assist students in research projects as assigned.
j) Serve as a Class Advisor as assigned by the Head of Department.
k) And other duties as assigned by the Principal/Department Head.

Education and experience
▪ At least a Degree in Chaplaincy, Theology, Business, Counselling or related field.
▪ A trained teacher or possesses pedagogy certification.
▪ Registered by TVETA and CDACC.
▪ At least 5 years’ experience in ministerial training.
▪ Experience in chaplaincy ministry in any context is an added advantage.
Skills
▪ Must be a mature Christian with evidenced life of holiness and spiritual transformation.
▪ Must be in complete agreement with the doctrines, practices, and purposes of AGC/WGM
▪ Working knowledge of Computer and Office Applications
▪ Teaching ability and experience in a college setting is desirable
