Job Description

Department: – Projects
Reporting to: – Projects Director
Location: – Optiven Headquarters
Gross Salary Range: – Kshs 70,000 – Kshs 100,000

Job Summary:
Optiven, a leading company in the Real Estate Industry seek to hire an experienced person to fill the position of a Land surveyor. The successful applicant will aid in streamlining land operations to ensure effective and timely service delivery to our clients specifically in areas like water provision, infrastructure and other value additions to the projects.

Key duties and responsibilities:
• Provide technical advice to the Company on Physical planning matters.
• Formulation of physical and land use policies, regulations and standards.
• Oversee implementation of the physical development policies, guidelines, strategies and spatial plans.
• Oversee development of a framework for development of Infrastructure as well as coordinate site analysis.
• Oversee collection of geographical data for preparation, design and review of physical development plan.
• Spearhead vetting and verification of Physical development and building plans.
• Regulate use of land projects, oversee implementation of development control and preservation orders.
• Prohibit or control the use and development of land and buildings in the interests of proper and orderly development of its area.
• Provide technical advice on matters concerning alienation and appropriate use of land; (change/extension of user, subdivision, amalgamation).
• Manage and maintain physical planning records and data banks.
• Resolve conflicts arising from physical planning processes.
• Initiate and facilitate research on urbanization strategies and policies and any other matter related to physical land planning.
• Collaborate with other stakeholders and the National Land Commission and National Government Land agencies on matters related to physical planning
• Perform any other work as may be assigned by the management.

Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning or Town Planning from a recognized institution.
• Have professional experience (practical) for over three (3) years in planning matters.
• Have demonstrated technical and professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.
• Be registered by the Physical Planners Registration Board.
• Be a corporate member of Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural association of Kenya.
• Have certificate of computer application skills from a recognized institution.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Excellent reporting skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful.
• Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to company mission.
• Professionalism, high level of maturity, good character with positive values.
