1.1 JOB TITLE: Assistant Network
Administrator
DEPARTMENT:ICT
SECTION: Network
1.2 REPORTS TO:
 Network/Infrastructure Administrator
1.3 SUPERVISES:
 None

2.0 PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure the alignment of IT infrastructure and platform configurations in accordance with
the regulations and rules, information security policies and security baseline. Implement,
monitor, evaluate, and operate a wide range of IT infrastructure and security management
processes, policies, and procedures.
Support implementation of the Society’s ICT management systems and strategies, ensure
effective functioning of the society’s hardware and software packages and provide
administrative support in the ICT department.

3.0 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
 Implement the approved concept.
 Recommend improvements to the infrastructure.
 Assist in designing, installing, configuration, testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting
of the infrastructure and infrastructure components.
 Assist in the implementation of Data Center project.
 Liaise with vendors for installation and configuration.
 Testing and commissioning of projects.
 Monitoring and maintenance of the existing infrastructure systems.
 Administering IT infrastructure including Network (LAN and WAN), Infrastructure
Datacenter, and PBX Telephony System.
 Managing the ICT infrastructure equipment including and not limited to network
devices -Routers, Firewalls, Core Switches, Access Switches, Access Points, and other
network devices as well as related servers.
 Network security monitoring.
 Identification of any points of failure and addressing these.
 Report the infrastructure system performance and security issues manager
Infrastructure & Security.
 Regularly monitoring and reporting on infrastructure and security performance and
security issues.
 Recommending improvements and security measures.
 Implementing relevant approved actions to address the issues.
 Supervision of Outsourced Infrastructure services as well as the service providers/third
parties.
 Service performance and SLA management and monitoring.
 Facilitating continual review and follow up on improvement recommendations.
 Recommending improvements on contracts.
 Support, Knowledge Management and Others
 Second and Third level escalation by other ICT Teams on matters related to network
infrastructure and security.
Contributes to the development of IT knowledge base, technical guidelines, policy,
and procedure
Other responsibilities
 Performs any other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

4.1 Experience
5 years’ experience
4.2 Academic Qualification
 A degree in computer science or related field
4.3 Professional Qualification
 ICT certification in one of the key areas; Networking, Database Management,
Programming CCNA, CCNP.
 Certification in infrastructure systems.
 Certification IT Security, with CISA, CEH, or equivalent.
Proficiency in Microsoft Server technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory certificate or
equivalent.

 Significant experience working with Windows servers and network monitoring tools.
 Strong knowledge of networking, including: but not limited to switching, routing and
routing protocols
