Position: Principal Supply Chain Management Officer
Location: Nairobi County
Reporting: Assistant Manager, Supply Chain Management
About the Institute:
The Kenya BioVax Institute is a State Corporation tasked with the manufacturing, packaging and commercialization of specialized Health Products and Technologies (HPTs) that include vaccines, therapeutics and other biomedical products.

Job Purpose:
Coordinate the implementation of strategies, policies and procedures that safe guard the intergrity of procurement process in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:
1. A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience in the public or private sector;
2. Master’s Degree in any of the following fields: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Purchasing, Procurement and Logistics or any other relevant or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
3. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Purchasing, Procurement and Logistics or any other relevant or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
4. Should have served as Senior Supply Chain Management Officer or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public or Private sector;
5. Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
6. Strategic Leadership Course not lasting less than four (4) weeks from a recognised Institution;
7. Possess relevant professional qualification from a recognised institution;
8. Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply; and
9. Membership of Kenya Institute of Supply Management in good standing.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Coordinate development, implementation and review supply chain management and warehousing policies, plans and strategies that safeguard the transparency, accountability and integrity of the procurement, asset management and disposal processes of the Institute;
2. Carry out Institute’s supply chain management processes in accordance with PPDA in an efficient and timely acquisition of goods, works, services and consultancies;
3. Prepare reports for submission to the National Treasury and the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) on matters related to procurement and asset disposal;
4. Implement work plans, budgets and performance targets;
5. Participate in development of departmental long-term strategic plans and projects;
6. Develop the department’s annual work plans, procurement plans, budget and monitor their implementation;
7. Keep accurately all procurement records;
8. Carryout Institute’s disposal of obsolete items and waste in consultation with relevant functional areas and NEMA as per the Environment Management and Coordination (Toxic and Hazardous Industrial Chemicals and Materials Management) Regulations 2018;
9. Provide regular, thorough and prompt communication to the CEO on key technical, financial and administrative matters.

Terms of Service
The successful applicant will be appointed for five (5) year contract term and may be eligible for reappointment as per the Kenya BioVax Human Resource Policy and Procedures Manual.
