Position: Senior Human Resource Management Officer
Location: Nairobi County
Reporting: Principal Human Resource Management Officer

About the Institute:
The Kenya BioVax Institute is a State Corporation tasked with the manufacturing, packaging and commercialization of specialized Health Products and Technologies (HPTs) that include vaccines, therapeutics and other biomedical products.

Job Purpose:
Responsible for effective and efficient management of human resource functions including recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, employee relations and staff training as guided by the Human Resource Policies and Procedures Manuals and other relevant Labour laws to ensure achievement of human resource objectives towards achievement of the Institute’s mandate.

Requirements:
1. A minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience in Public or Private sector;
2. Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: - Human Resource Management/ Development or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; OR Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: - Economics; Sociology; Business Administration; Public Administration; Commerce with Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management/Development or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
3. Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
4. Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) or Kenya Institute of Administration

Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Manage payroll administration;
2. Manage human resource records;
3. Update and maintain records of staff training and development programs;
4. Prepare and compile reports on the implementation of the performance management systems including performance appraisal;
5. Prepares orientation programme to new staff, and ensure new staff at all levels receive appropriate orientation to the organization;
6. Implement staff movement such as transfers, exits and promotions;
7. Undertake training needs analysis, projections and develop training programs to ensure the training function is systematics towards enhancement of performance;
8. Participate diligently in various committees as shall be appointed or tasked from time to time;
9. Undertake training needs analysis, projections and develop training programs;
10. Coordinate implementation of staff welfare and benefits schemes, including medical scheme, pension scheme, housing and car loan schemes; and
11. Prepare budgets.

The successful applicant will be appointed for five (5) year contract term and may be eligible for reappointment as per the Kenya BioVax Human Resource Policy and Procedures Manual.
