About the Institute:
The Kenya BioVax Institute is a State Corporation tasked with the manufacturing, packaging and commercialization of specialized Health Products and Technologies (HPTs) that include vaccines, therapeutics and other biomedical products.

Job Purpose:
Provide support to improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes through independent and objective risk assurance so as to add value and improve the operations of the Institute as well as assist the Board accomplish its strategic objectives.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Undertake audit assignments in line with the approved audit work plan to confirm the adequacy and effectiveness of controls;
2. Conduct special audits including ad-hoc audits as may arise;
3. Perform substantive and compliance audits and prepare working papers;
4. Prepare audit programs for audit engagements to be executed;
5. Evaluate internal control systems including general system controls, infrastructure controls, and application controls;
6. Prepare reports and analysis that communicate audit results for the relevant business conditions and business risks/controls;
7. Conduct systems audits and reviews in the diverse computerized environment;
8. Conduct information systems audit engagements including testing and evaluation programs, quality assurance, and reporting of audit results;
9. Contribute to the functioning of the internal control system by testing it to identify gaps that would allow fraud to take place;
10. Undertake consultations on implementation of new technologies and business applications on system risks;
11. Prepare reports and analysis that communicate audit results; Evaluate the identified risks;
12. Perform vulnerability assessments;
13. Provide regular reports on changes in risk status;
14. Maintain the risk database;
15. Maintain risk control implementation status records and feedback tool;
16. Carry out investigations on reported and suspected cases of fraud and any type of losses;
17. Collect and collate evidence and file applicable reports with Management;
18. Maintain audit evidence and records;
19. Prepare audit programs and reports for audit engagements; and
20. Maintain the Audit activity diary.

Terms of Service
The successful applicant will be appointed for five (5) year contract term and may be eligible for reappointment as per the Kenya BioVax Human Resource Policy and Procedures Manual.
