Nithi Water and Sanitation Company Limited (NIWASCO) is a Water Service Provider responsible for efficient and economical provision of water and sanitation services in Tharaka Nithi County as per the Water Act 2016.
The company has two (2) board vacancies for representatives of the following stakeholder groups:
1. One (1) Director from Business Community
2. One (1) Director from Women Organizations
Eligibility.
To be eligible for appointment, one must meet the following criteria:
1. Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in the following backgrounds; Finance/Accounting, Engineering, Human Resource, Law, Business/Management Systems or Information Technology.
2. Minimum of seven (7) years working experience in the core profession or have run own enterprises for a minimum of 7 years.
3. Applicants must be nominated by stakeholders group registered with NIWASCO.
4. Must be a resident of the area served by the company.
5. Must download, fill and submit the Fit and Proper Test available at WASREB's website www.wasreb.co.ke. The submitted copy MUST be fully signed by the applicant and stamped by a commissioner of oaths.
6. Proof of compliance with the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 through submission of the following CURRENT (issued within the last 12 months) documents:
a. Certificate of Good Conduct from Directorate Criminal Investigation (DCI)
b. Clearance Certificate from accredited Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
c. Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
d. Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
e. Clearance Certificate from Ethics and Ant-Corruption Commission (EACC)
NOTE
i) Suppliers and other trading associates of the company are not eligible for directorship positions of the company.
ii) Persons with current professional and social relationships with current directors and staff of the company cannot become directors of the company.
Applications instructions
The applicants should enclose a letter of nomination from the stakeholder institution together with their application, CV, copies of certificates Chapter 6 documents and testimonials.
Applications in a sealed envelope marked "APPLICATION FOR DIRECTORSHIP IN NIWASCO" should be submitted and deposited in the application box at NIWASCO main office located at the County Commissioner's Compound on or before 10th September, 2021 at 11:00 am. Late submissions will not be accepted.
