Job Description

Duties and responsibilities
1. Providing of day to day legal and regulatory support to the functional areas covering general compliance queries and reviews.
2. Following up on cases filed against the Company and providing legal advice on matters affecting the company.
3. Carrying out legal audits for compliance, and monitoring compliance with legal and statutory requirements of the Company.
4. Preparing and updating matters-arising matrix to monitor implementation of Board and Senior Management decisions.
5. Keeping abreast with the legislative environment that have an impact on the Company’s operations.
6. Participating in drawing and vetting of contracts, leases, and other legal instruments.
7. Preparing Legal opinions and legal interpretations on various matters as required including interpretation of court and arbitral rulings affecting the Company.
8. Participating in negotiations of treaties and contracts between the Company and other parties.
9. Ensuring compliance to the Company Policies, Regulations, Standards and Procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
10. Assisting in undertaking of Company Secretarial services and providing administrative support to the Board and Senior Management.
1. Facilitating, monitoring and absorption of budget for the Division
2. Participating in procurement processes
3. Coaching, mentoring, and developing staff using relevant human resource tools.


1. Person Specifications
1. Minimum of Twelve (12) years post admission experience, five (5) years of which should have been at management level.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized Institution.
3. Master’s Degree in Law from a recognized Institution.
4. Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
5. Be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
6. Member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
7. Certified Public Secretary (K) qualification is an added advantage
8. Valid membership to the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) is an added advantage.

Terms of Service
The appointment will be for a contractual period of five (5) years renewable subject to performance .
