Duties and Responsibilities
i. Coordinating security checks within the organization premises;
ii. Coordinating investigative activities within the organization;
iii. Sending alerts to the management and staff on security incidents for safeguard
measures;
iv. Coordinating periodic security vetting of guards;
v. Maintaining a security logbook for all security related incidents;
vi. Maintaining an inventory of security apparatus and equipment;
vii. Allocating duties, supervising, mentoring and appraising staff in the unit;
viii. Monitoring current trends of crime and related matters that may affect the
institution and recommend appropriate action to the management; and
ix. Monitoring security systems installed in the premises to ensure that they are
properly functioning at all times
Job Requirements
i. Served as a Security Officer for a minimum period of three (3) years;
ii. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: -
Criminology; Criminology and Criminal Justice; Criminology and Fraud
Management; Criminology and Security Management; Security Management
or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
iii. A First Aid Certificate from a recognized institution;
iv. A certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution;
v. Fulfilled the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya
