Salary Range: KES (38270-51170)
House Allowance: KES 16500
Commuter Allowance: KES 5000

Job Requirements
i. A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning and Management, Environmental Science Studies or any other related Degree from a recognized University in Kenya;
ii. Demonstrate outstanding professional competence and integrity in work performance and results;
iii. Thorough understanding of Environmental laws and regulations;
iv. Ability to conduct research, organize and present information, write and compile analytical reports for presentation;
v. Must be a registered Associate Expert with relevant bodies;
vi. Must satisfy the requirement of chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.

Job Description
i. Identifying areas of Environmental concerns at the ward level and ensuring they are sufficiently addressed and incorporated in Environmental Management Plans;
ii. Preparation of Ward Work Plans for all environmental activities and supervision of their implementation;
iii. Collaborating with community and other stakeholders in environmental conservation activities at Ward level;
iv. Documenting and promoting best environmental practices at Ward level;
v. Periodic preparation and submission of Environmental Progress Report at Ward level;
vi. Facilitation and promotion of Citizen Participation in management of environmental affairs at Ward level;
vii. Assisting the Sub-County Environment Officer and liaising with other county government officers in developing strategies for better environmental service delivery at Ward level.
viii. Ensuring compliance and enforcement of Environmental Regulations within the Ward;
ix. Assisting the Sub-County Environment Officer and liaising with other county government officers in developing strategies for better environmental service delivery;
x. Developing and updating Ward Environmental Databases;
xi. Mobilizing the public to participate in environmental conservation, landscaping and management activities within the Ward including liaising with NGOs;
xii. Conducting environmental education and public awareness on environmental issues at Ward level;
xiii. Any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time by your supervisor.
