Job Purpose: The Principal Innovation & Technology Transfer Officer at the Hospital is a key role
dedicated to fostering innovation and technology transfer in healthcare. This position exists to
facilitate the development and adoption of cutting-edge technology to improve patient care and
hospital operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Identify and evaluate innovative healthcare technologies and solutions.
• Establish partnerships with research institutions and technology providers.
• Oversee the technology transfer process from research to practical application.
• Collaborate with hospital departments to implement innovative solutions.
• Promote a culture of innovation among staff.
• Monitor and assess the impact of technology initiatives.
• Provide leadership and guidance in innovation projects.
• Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements
i. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer
Technology, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Information Engineering,
Electronics and Computer Engineering, Multimedia, Cybersecurity/Digital Forensics, Data
Science, Business Information Technology or its equivalent qualification from recognized
institution.
ii. Specialized Certificate in any of the following; International Computer Driving License (ICDL),
A+, N+, ITIL, CISCO, Oracle, CISA, IBM, Cybersecurity, User Support Specialist (USS), network
engineering, bandwidth optimization, Web design, Graphics Design, LINUX/UNIX, Microsoft,
Digital Marketing, Data Warehousing/Analytics/Visualization, ICT Governance, and Data Base
Management Systems (DBMS).
iii. A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience three (3) of which should have
been at a supervisory level or in a comparable position.
iv. Evidence of having taken a supervisory course.
v. Registration with relevant professional body.
vi. Fulfilled the requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
vii. Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines will be an added advantage: Computer
Science, Information Technology or Business Information Technology or its equivalent
qualification from recognized institution.
