Job Description

Reporting To: Housekeeping Executive Office Location: Gelian Hotel, Machakos Background: Gelian Hotel is a four-star hotel located at the center of Machakos town. It is also a sister Hotel to Semara Hotel. Semara Hotel is located in Machakos, Mwatu wa Ngoma Street opposite Machakos County Commissioner Office. We are seeking highly motivated, honest and dedicated team player to join our growing business.

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Smooth and organized running of housekeeping department according to the Standards set by the management.
2. Works with room stewards to ensure proper room presentation.
3. Works with public area attendants to ensure proper public area cleanliness is top notch.
4. Keep current on pulse of the guests, constantly seeking opportunities to follow-up on their experience.
5. Provide employees with the tools and environment they need to deliver the company experience.
6. Develop and implement strategies and practices that support employee engagement.
7. Coordinate the set-up of guest rooms in accordance with the hotel’s standards.
8. Handle guest complaints in rooms within shortest time possible.
9. Schedules periodic housekeeping staff meetings to ensure correct interpretation of policies and obtain feedback from staff members.
10. Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and other services.
11. Capable of handling irate customers with a friendly/calm attitude.
12. Prioritizes tasks effectively to ensure most important tasks are completed on time.
13. Seeks, listens and responds to Guest feedback.
14. Coaches team on how to exceed Guest and staff expectations.
15. Creates a positive team atmosphere among Team Members.
16. Perform other hotel-related duties as required.
17. Any other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
1. 3years experience of Experience in 4* Hotel as an Executive Housekeeper
2. Diploma in Hotel management/ Housekeeping option from accredited collage/University with relevant experience
3. Ability to express persuasive practical solutions
4. Commitment to professional values and integrity
