Lecturer Agricultural Engineering- Job Grade: BAC6 - One (1) Post

Job Specification
This will be the entry and training grade for the Lecturer cadre. An officer at this level
will work under the supervision and guidance of a senior officer. Duties and
responsibilities will entail:-
i. Prepare teaching content and conduct lectures to students to impart skills and
knowledge necessary for job market, self-employment and generate income to
the college
ii. Prepare training materials and schemes of work for trainees to ensure the
facilitation of effective and efficient training
iii. Design and deliver specialized training programmes for students and farmers to
enhance community development, corporate social responsibility and to
generate income for the college
iv. Carry out research under the guidance of a senior lecturer for generation of new
knowledge for the college, the community and self-career development
v. Supervise students research projects to assess their ability to apply the
knowledge and skills acquired in the course of training
vi. Conduct seminars and workshops to the community and students to
disseminate knowledge and skills and generate income to the college
vii.Supervise practical demonstrations and assessing performance of the
instructors and technologists for effective and progressive training
viii. Assess performance of students by setting and administering
examinations to determine concept understanding and allow for progression of
the student to the next academic level
ix. Mark and award of grades to students for purpose of evaluation leading to final
awarding of academic certificates.
x. Participate in production of educational materials for students’ self-acquisition
of knowledge as per the requirements of the curriculum
xi. Guide and counsel students in academics and social welfare to build the
academic excellence and good character development of the students
Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
i. Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: -Agricultural Engineering
or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
ii. Membership to a professional body
iii. Proficiency in computer applications;
iv. Meets the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
