MEDICAL SPECIALIST I- GENERAL SURGEON, JOB GROUP ‘CPSB 04’ (Q) TWO (2) POSTS
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Duties and Responsibilities
1. General diagnosing, caring and treating diseases and rehabilitation of patients;
2. Carrying out specialized clinical care
• Providing psycho-social interventions
1. Providing clinical services to patients
2. Training, consulting and performing surgeries in various health facilities
3. Carrying out forensic and medico-legal services
• Coordinating disease surveillance, prevention and control
• Coordinating health education and promotion
1. Implementing health projects and programmes
2. Maintaining up-to-date health information systems
3. Monitoring provision of health treatment and care
• Undertaking health research
•Analyzing medical reports
Requirements for Appointment
1. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from a recognized by medical practitioner and Dentist Board;
2. Master’s degree in general surgery or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
• Certificate of registration by the medical practitioners and dentist board
1. Valid practicing license from the medical practitioner and Dentists Board;
2. Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution.
3. Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and Results
