Duties and Responsibilities
i. Carrying out specialized laboratory analysis by following approved methodologies;
ii. Preparing laboratory reagents;
iii. Processing and analyzing samples and specimens;
iv. Ensuring adherence to good laboratory practices for accuracy and reliability of data and safety of operations;
v. Indexing and processing experimental data.
vi. Maintaining of equipment logbooks and research notebooks;
vii. Complying with approved laboratory standards;
viii. Complying with occupational Health and Safety regulations in the laboratory;
ix. Carrying out laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations; and
x. Compiling and submitting laboratory research reports.
Job Requirements
i. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Biochemistry; Analytical Chemistry and Instrumentation; Medical Laboratory Technology; Biomedical Sciences; Agriculture; Biotechnology; Animal Health and Production; Molecular and Cellular Biology; Industrial Chemistry; Animal Science; Dairy Technology and Management; Horticulture; Chemistry; Food Science and Technology; Range Management; Veterinary Medicine; Microbiology and Biotechnology; Animal Health, Production and Processing; Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
ii. Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
iii. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.
