Kenton College Preparatory School is inviting applications for the following position:
Post Title: Plumber
Reporting to: Estate Manager

Job Purpose
The post holder is responsible for the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of plumbing fixtures for drainage and water systems in the School. As part of the grounds team, he/she will routinely carry out grounds maintenance duties. A high standard of customer service care is essential for our establishment, which has extensive buildings and grounds. Close liaison with the Estate Manager is essential on a day to day basis.

Key Responsibilities
• Inspect work sites to advise the Estate Manager on type and amount of material/equipment required for plumbing work.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and repair to ensure plumbing equipment and fixtures are functioning efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with relevant local authority and Health and Safety legislations.
• Read and interpret blueprints to assess plumbing installations and layouts.
• Locate and repair issues with water supply lines and sewage systems.
• Inspect and test plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and compliance.
• Maintain a monthly stock of all plumbing materials.
• Work in liaison with the in-house mason in repair of manholes and construction of new manholes.
• Regular inspection of manholes and sewer systems for blockages and general maintenance.
• Any other grounds duties as directed by the Head of Grounds.

• Working knowledge of heating and ventilation systems as well as appliances
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications
• Minimum Certificate in a Plumbing course
• 2 years hands on relevant experience.
