Duties and responsibilities
The Deputy County Secretary will be responsible to the County Secretary for the following:
i. Secretary to the County Performance Management and Monitoring Committee
ii. Coordinating County Government functions. reports and programmes.
iii. Preparing and drafting memoranda. cabinet position and concept papers.
iv. Dissemination of County Government policies and programmes.
v. Conducting technical research and special studies on policy issues.
vi. Follow-up action on Executive Committee decisions and directives with relevant Departments.
vii. Supporting in establishing strong linkages between County Departments and external stakeholders.
viii. Performing any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements for appointment
For appointment. one must possess the following:
-i. Be a Kenyan Citizen.
ii. Be in possession of a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences/ Management from a recognized university in Kenya. iii. Knowledge and experience in financial management will be desirable.
iv. Possession of a Master's Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage.
v. Have working experience of not less than seven (7) years. of which three (3) should be in a large organization.
vi. Demonstrate thorough understanding of County development objectives and vision 2030.
vii. Demonstrate thorough understanding and commitment to the National Values and Principles of Government and Public Service.
viii. Be conversant with Government policies and regulations and devolution laws.
ix. Have ability to work in multi-Ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
x. Have capacity to work under pressure to meet strict timelines.
xi. Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
xii. Be computer Literate.
xiii. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
