QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements For appointment
i. Diploma in either Environmental Health Science or Public Health Inspection from a recognized institution
ii. Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution;
iii. Possess a current valid practicing certificate;
iv. Membership of a relevant professional body;
v. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and
vi. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and responsibilities
i. Provide environmental health extension services;
ii. Mobilize, sensitize and advise communities on matters related to environmental health;
iii. Refer health cases to relevant health facilities;
iv. Carry out immunization; identifying environmental health issues at community level;
v. Organize community health days to advise communities on common public health issues;
vi. Implement vector, vermin and rodent control measures; and implement integrated mosquito control strategies; and
vii. Collect and maintain up to date records of services rendered; assessing health needs of the community.
