QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements for Appointment: -
i. Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered midwifery, or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution;
ii. Possess a current valid practicing certificate;
iii. Membership to a relevant professional body; and
iv. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities: -
i. Assess, plan, implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient’s outcomes;
ii. Provide appropriate healthcare service including Integrated Management of Childhood; Illness (IMCI), immunization, PMTCT, antenatal care and delivery;
iii. Provide health education and counseling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs;
iv. Refer patients and clients appropriately;
v. Facilitate patient’s admission and initiating discharge plans;
vi. Maintain records on patients/clients’ health condition and care;
vii. Ensure a tidy and safe clinical environment; and
viii. Collect, compile and submit data as scheduled.
