QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements for appointment:-
i. Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution;
ii. Served in the grade of Registered Nurse II for a minimum period of three (3) years.
iii. Possess a current valid practicing certificate;
iv. Membership to a relevant professional body; and
v. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities: -
i. Assess, plan, implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient's outcomes;
ii. Diagnose common health conditions;
iii. Provide appropriate healthcare service including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), Integrated Management of Adolescents and Adulthood illnesses (IMAI), immunization and reproductive health;
iv. Provide health education and counseling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs;
v. Refer patients and clients appropriately;
vi. Facilitate patients' admission and initiating discharge plans;
vii. Maintain records on patients/clients health condition and care;
viii. Ensure a tidy and safe clinical environment;
ix. Collect and collate data for research;
x. Evaluate healthcare outcomes on patients/clients and prepare individualized reports;
xi. Conduct assessment of schools health needs;
xii. Plan, implement interventions and prepare periodic reports; and
xiii. Identify occupational health needs and make appropriate recommendations
