QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements for Appointment: -
i. Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
ii. Possess a current valid practicing certificate;
iii. Membership of a relevant professional body;
iv. Proficiency in computer applications; and
v. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and responsibilities: -
i. Carry out history taking, examine, diagnose, treat, manage diseases and conditions on outpatient and outpatients in Health Facilities;
ii. Sensitize patients and clients on preventive and promotive health;
iii. Carry out surgical procedures as per training and skills;
iv. Guide and counsel patients, clients and staff on health issues;
v. Asses, prepare and present medico- Legal reports;
vi. Collect and compile clinical data and submit report are required;
vii. Plan and conduct Community Health Care activities;
viii. Coach and mentor students attached to hospitals and health Centres; and
ix. Supervise and counsel staff engaged in routine Patients’ care and give support and health education to patients.
